When someone decides that they want to meet Russian single women, the first places they usually go to are Russian dating/marriage agencies online. While it certainly might be the most convenient and the quickest way, it is not always the best one.

As if dealing with cultural differences was not enough, you have to worry about legal stuff such as getting visa for your Russian fiance and later applying for her green card. Getting green card through marriage shouldn’t be the hassle, but quite frequently it turns out to be.
If you don’t know what to do, the process can be quite painful and annoying because the government officials don’t allow you to make any mistakes and from our experience they are not very helpful if for some reason you get stuck and have some questions. If you accidentally screw something up they will make your life much more complicated.

Russian dating scams are a huge nasty business, but they shouldn’t discourage you from dating Russian or Eastern European ladies. Yes, many people get scammed, but usually this happens only to those who haven’t done their homework and didn’t do their research prior to dating.
This happened to one of our friends, who instead of seeking some advice from us, decided to do it on his own. He didn’t want anyone to know that he was looking for a Russian bride, because he was afraid that people are going to laugh at him. Fortunately, the guy didn’t lose money (other than the money he spent on phone calls and letters), but he did waste quite a bit of time and got his heart broken. When the woman he was “dating” said her mother got ill and she needed a very expensive surgery, our friend got a gut feeling that something was not quite right. He emailed us asking for the advice, gave us more details on his “relationship” and almost right away I knew that he was dealing with a classic scammer.

Russian scams are probably one of the most well known dating scams in the history of Internet. Almost everyone knows someone or heard of someone who has been scammed while trying to find a Russian or an Eastern European bride.
These scams are a pretty huge business and a number of Western men broke their hearts and emptied their wallets because of them. This caused many people (including some of my friends) believe that all these Russian girls that are looking at you from their profiles are scammers and all Russian dating business is a big bogus and scam.

Before you continue reading the article, I have to warn you that even though I try not to stereotype too much, it is impossible to avoid it completely while trying to describe the culture. When I write my articles I realize that there are exceptions and some Russian or Eastern European women would probably throw tomatoes at me for writing certain things. However, I am trying to be as objective as I can, so if you meet an Eastern European woman who is nothing like what you read on my website, take it easy on me and remember: THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO EVERY RULE!

You probably heard that Eastern European women are different. It is true, so it means that they should also be treated differently.
There is no magic formula to please every woman in the world (or even every Russian woman), because women will be women and often they are not even sure what they want themselves. However, there are some things, which most Eastern European women like in men.

Marriage agencies like to claim that beautiful Russian women make the best wives in the world. They often make you believe that most Western women are just plain evil and only crazy men are not looking for an Eastern European or a Russian wife.
Well, what can I say? Marriage agencies are trying to make money and advertising hot Russian ladies is their job. I personally could never work in advertising, because I hate lying and exaggerating and I always believe that honesty is the best policy. Obviously, most advertisers have a different motto, but I can’t judge them for it.
